What you can store

Most household and business items are suitable, including furniture, boxes, tools, equipment, business stock, seasonal items, and archived paperwork (well packed and boxed).

What you can’t store

For safety and legal reasons, you must not store anything illegal or anything that could pose a risk to people, property, or the site. Examples include:

• Flammable, combustible or hazardous items (fuel, gas cylinders, fireworks, solvents, chemicals)
• Explosives, firearms, ammunition or weapons
• Food or perishable goods that could attract pests
• Living things (plants, animals) or anything requiring ventilation/temperature control
• Waste, anything leaking, or items producing strong odours

If you’re unsure about an item, please ask before storing it.

Condensation Control with Grafo-Therm

All of our storage containers are treated with Grafo-Therm, a very popular and cost-effective solution for reducing condensation and moisture build-up in shipping containers.

Grafo-Therm is a specialised anti-condensation paint coating commonly used in existing buildings and steel structures, including shipping containers. It is applied to the inside ceiling of the container and helps create a more stable internal environment.

The coating works in three key ways:

• Reduces temperature fluctuation by limiting heat loss, helping to prevent the conditions that cause condensation to form.
• Absorbs moisture as it forms through capillary action, preventing water droplets from dripping onto stored items.
• Speeds up evaporation thanks to its textured surface, helping the container dry out more quickly.

While no container can be guaranteed completely condensation-free in all weather conditions, Grafo-Therm significantly reduces the risk and is a widely used solution across the storage and container industry.

Security & padlocks

Each customer is responsible for securing their container. Customers normally provide their own padlock (also common across UK operators). If you need one, we can advise on a suitable type when you book.
